New LEDs Promise to Make Your Smartphone Screen 400 Percent Clearer

The most advanced LED screens look amazing compared to what was on the market even a couple of years ago. But a Princeton engineer found a cheap new way of making LEDs not only brighter and more efficient, but also five times as clear. It even makes them last longer. Professor Stephen Chou is renowned for his 2012 nanotechnology breakthrough that increased solar cell efficiency by 175 percent. Now, he’s applied the same principle to LED technology. “From a view point of physics, a good light absorber, which we had for the solar cells, should also be a good light radiator,” said Chou in a press release. “We wanted to experimentally demonstrate this is true in visible light range, and then use it to solve the key challenges…

Announcing the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter

Have you ever had something on your phone that you really wanted to show to your friends and family, but they had to huddle around you and your PC, tablet, or smartphone just to show them? Rocki Transforms Old Speakers Into Smartphone-Ready Audio Devices

The Rocki helps transform old speakers into smartphone-connected devices.By Adario Strange2014-04-23 02:00:03

It looks like a rock and it turns any normal speaker into a wireless speaker, but the Rocki is more practical tool than cute gimmick. The Rocki was originally launched as a Kickstarter project back in November. Its developers were only looking to raise $50,000, but eventually came away with well over $200,000 in contributions. The device, which looks like a tiny piece of modern art, can be plugged into any standard speaker with 3.5mm or RCA audio ports and then connected to your smartphone, tablet or PC via Wi-Fi. This means that even that old stereo component set your parents have been storing up in the attic for decades can be …
